Jethro the Dragonbot © Mark II

This is Jethro the Dragonbot © Mark II model J-B. If the Mark I was a tyrannosaurus the Mark II is a dragon. Small, fast, smart and very cool.

For everything the Mark I was in an overbuilt prototype, the Mark II is in a stream line production model. Multi chasis designs are possible. The exo-pupeteer carries the Mark II by means of an ergonomic back pack connected directly to the spine and hips of the lower body. The head is a separate unit with complete mobility and can be removed entirely.

Jethro the Dragonbot Mark II Concept Drawing

Design/concept ideas began in early 2007. I played with and changed the design many times. The final design was chosen in the Summer of 2007. Construction began in late 2008 and was finished in early 2009.

The head unit has aluminum tubing for the framework, aluminum screen, a small amount of foam and wood and dragon skin. The legs are made of slab foam and PVC joints with trashcan lids for feet.

Jethro has a unique elastic suspension system for ease of operation. He has full sensor arrays, biosphere life support, full armament including a short range plasma beam weapon (supersoaker), foam-string defense systems and the experimental pneumatic missile system and of course a full sound system.

Franchises will be ready for sale by 2010, possibly sooner.

Jethro is also available for charity events whenever I can afford it, especially in Carrboro.
